How to use this app
iPhone: open in Safari → Share → Add to Home Screen. Android: open in Chrome → ⋮ → Install. Once installed it works with no signal — the whole book is on the phone.
The ALS | BLS switch at the top left sets what a protocol shows you. ALS shows the paramedic and information sections. BLS shows all‑providers, ALS assist and information, and hides the Drips tab, Dose Calc and the dose chips. Nothing is ever lost — PDF page always shows the full printed protocol. Want both at once? Settings → Show both ALS and BLS. Both halves of the switch light up; tap either one to go back to that level.
Search by name, symptom (“seizure”) or drug (“versed”). Tap a section bar to open or close it — it stays that way next time. Read = scannable text. PDF page = the real book page. ☆ = favorite.
Tap a yellow drug chip at the top of a protocol. Set the weight once (kg, lb, or pick an age) — it follows you between protocols. Green is the dose, then the mL to draw. Orange (max) means it hit the protocol’s cap. Always confirm against the page and the vial in your hand.
Consult dials Medical Control on 305-990-8950. Dose Calc turns a vial strength plus an ordered dose into mL — drugs are listed alphabetically, and /kg handles weight-based orders.
Drips tab has the mixing recipes and rates — tap a row to open it. If a supplier changes what we stock, update Settings → Vial concentrations and every mL recalculates. That list is alphabetical too.
Cycle and epi timing with loud cues, one-tap drug logging, ROSC checklist, and an exportable code record. Rhythm check — at the end of each cycle the clock holds until you confirm the check, so the pause is counted rather than guessed at. Shock carries the energy: 360 J for an adult, and 2 → 4 → 8–10 J/kg for a child once you enter a weight. Only Shock advances the shock count. Antiarrhythmics — pick amiodarone or lidocaine and the other one disappears, and each further dose steps down on its own. Airway — log what went in and when. For a child it shows the ET tube size from the age you picked.
Search by name, city or ZIP — it looks at every hospital, whatever filter is set. The chips filter by capability: All hospitals, Takes peds, STEMI, Stroke, Trauma. Tap the 📍 pin to sort by how far each one is from you. Directions routes to the emergency entrance, not the main lobby. Call dials that hospital’s ER notification line, and DOOR is the entry code where HSF has one on file.
The speech-bubble button up top reports a wrong dose or a page that looks off. It records which protocol you were on, and sends itself once you’re back in coverage. When “New version available — Reload” appears, tap Reload.
